Our Programs: Seattle

At Books of Joy, we believe that education is the foundation for a brighter future. Every child deserves access to quality education, but barriers like poverty, location, and resources often stand in the way. Even though our core programs are focused on supporting children’s education in Nepal, since we are based in Redmond, WA, the local communities are interested in helping by providing physical donations to support local schools.

To enable this, we are expanding our mission to support students in Seattle, specifically those attending Title I schools. Title I schools serve a high percentage of students from low-income families and receive federal assistance to help close achievement gaps and provide a supportive, equitable educational experience. These schools often face significant resource challenges, impacting students’ access to basic school supplies and educational opportunities.

Through this new program, we are helping these schools by providing essential resources to help students learn, grow, and thrive. Your support is vital in ensuring that every child, regardless of socioeconomic background, can reach their full potential. Join us in leveling the playing field – donate the items listed below to make a difference in the lives of local students in need. You can contact us at donate@booksofjoy.org to coordinate drop-off of the physical items or if you are interested in setting up a school supplies drive.
